We are so excited for YOU to join us at the first ever World’s Big Sleep Out Event!
Thousands of people all over the world spend their nights sleeping on the streets, parks and under bridges. For one night, help display solidarity with and support of those experiencing homelessness and displacement. The World’s Big Sleep Out will take place in over 50 cities around the world.
Events like these would not be possible without the help and support of volunteers.
Choose a role that’s best for you!
There are multiple roles that are available on Saturday or Sunday. You can browse through all available roles in the table below. Please note that volunteers must be aged 15 years or over.
Check in Assistant
The Check in Assistant will assist in the entrance of participants into the grounds. You are to check tickets upon entry into the Gabba and ensuring that they are registered into the event. You are to notify participants on what items will not be allowed into the venue and directing them through the security checks.
You will be situated in the concourse of the Gabba, assisting with flowing participants into the venue. You will need to ensure that participants stick to one side of the concourse to ensure that there are pathways throughout the night. It is also your job to help guide participants to the grandstand when presentations are about to begin.
You will be situated throughout the concourse and will be assisting with waking up participants and flowing participants out of the Gabba. Participants will need to be woken up on Sunday morning and directed to the Goodbye Presentation. You will also be required to help clean up around the venue, throwing any rubbish leftover into the bins.
You will be situated in pairs throughout the concourse and will assisting with watching over the participants as they are sleeping. You are to assist participants throughout the night if they require anything. You are also to assist participants who want to leave the venue early.
